The Faber Sessions #7, Part V: A Portrait of a Literary Artist
June 6 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pmFree
Spirits in Bondage: A Cycle of Lyrics (1919; Lewis born in November 1889). Walter Hooper writes: “Lewis’s first ambition was to be a poet, and for many years he had his heart firmly set upon this…. From this time onwards (Easter vacation 1915) until he went up to Oxford in 1917, Lewis spent much of every holiday writing verse.”
About The Faber Sessions:
We are bringing our concentration to bear, in this first half of 2022, on different members of the Oxford Inklings (our “Guests” at The Night School) and on less well known but important literary works of C.S. Lewis (The Faber Sessions).
During the pandemic, during those days when all of us were “stuck” at home together, we offered the Faber Sessions once a week, in your homes (via ZOOM), as our way of allowing you as families to be reading together, and finding in what you read an enrichment of your in-house conversations.
But now we offer the Faber Sessions once a month, on the evening the first Mondays, 6 PM to 7:30 PM. For now, the Faber Sessions will always be in your homes (via ZOOM), while we will eventually return to in-person evenings with The Night School, whenever the pandemic will allow us to return to in-person.
The Faber Sessions, Series 7, begins in February and concludes in June: five Sessions.
