Night School for Deeper Learning with A Baby, Just Born (Series VI, Session IV)
December 10, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pmFree
The Night School is an experience of deep thought. This spiritual exercise activates in those who attend a longing for more depth of life and cultivates in them a greater capacity to explore with intellect and feeling the profound riches of the deep Tradition. Each month, the group is introduced to a new “guest” who were/are profound thinkers or missionaries or musicians or architects or philosophers or painters or poets or theologians or mystics. The structure of these evenings is this… each evening stands alone as a complete experience meaning that a person can attend the evenings that he or she can and never feel left “behind”. People arrive from 5:30 PM to 6 PM to enjoy food and drink and to unwind from the workday. The class is from 6 PM to 7 PM. In sum, The Night School is meant to be enjoyable, even startling at times (surprised by the wisdom and beauty we have available to us when given a chance to experience it), and most of all to be an experience of God.
For Session IV of Series VI, our guest speaker Tara Ludwig will invite us into an encounter with the wonder of the second Divine Person come as a baby. Tara will be joined by her infant daughter Gesumina, a child fresh from God, who will open insight for us into the meaning of Jesus the Just-Born. Tara is a Spiritual Director, speaker, and writer at the Faber Institute. She and her husband Matt are also the proud and tired parents of three small children.
